Elijah Stewart to USC; USC Transfer Byron Wesley to Gonzaga

Elijah Stewart, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Los Angeles Westchester, committed to USC at the end of his weekend visit, according to Scout.com.

A onetime Loyola Marymount commit, Stewart also considered Cincinnati and Oklahoma State.

Stewart is the No. 19 shooting guard in the Class of 2014, according to 247Sports.com.

Stewart joins point guard Jordan McLaughlin, small forward Malik Marquetti, power forward Malik Price-Martin and center Jabari Craig in coach Andy Enfield’s 2014 class.

USC also recently landed a pledge from 2015 forward power forward Chimezie Metu.

WESLEY TO GONZAGA

USC transfer Byron Wesley also announced Sunday he will play his final year at Gonzaga, choosing the Zags over Pittsburgh and Oklahoma State.

“It starts with the winning culture,” the 6-foot-5 Wesley told ESPN. “They’ve been to the NCAA tournament 16 straight times, and it’s an opportunity for me to play in the tournament in my last year.”

Wesley averaged 17.8 points and 6.4 rebounds last season at USC.

Gonzaga also adds Huntington Prep point guard Josh Perkins and power forward Domantas Sabonis along with Kentucky transfer Kyle Wiltjer, a power forward who becomes eligible next year.
