LSU Parts Ways With Three Players

JonesLSU is parting ways with a trio of players.

Shane Hammink, Anthony Hickey and Malik Morgan won’t return next season.

“These three players will not be a part of the LSU program next season,” said Coach Johnny Jones. “We thank them for the contributions they made to the LSU Basketball team and certainly wish them well in their future plans.”

Hammink, a 6-foot-7 sophomore forward, played in 21 games this past season and 47 games in his two years at LSU. He averaged 1.6 points and 1.4 rebounds for his LSU career.

Hickey, a 5-11 junior guard, played in 96 career games over three years, starting 85 with averages of 9.4 points and 3.3 rebounds over that time span. He had 360 career assists to just 159 turnovers and led the league this past season in assist-to-turnover ratio.

Morgan, a 6-4 sophomore guard who was sidelined by a knee injury and subsequent surgery after the Feb. 8 game with Auburn, played in 52 games with 20 starts. He averaged 4.9 points and 3.0 rebounds.
