After recently picking up offers from ACC schools N.C. State and Syracuse, Jessie Govan may visit both this summer.
“I might visit N.C. State in June and Syracuse in August,” the 6-foot-10 Govan out of Wings Academy and the New York Lightning AAU program told SNY.tv.
Govan added the offers following a strong performance at the Nike EYBL stop in Sacramento, Calif., in which he went for 22 points and six rebounds in one game and 17 points and seven boards in another.
At Syracuse, Govan is being recruited by assistant Red Autry.
“They’re a really good school,” Govan said. They’re always up there in the rankings. They’re a very good school with a great history, and Coach [Jim] Boeheim is a great coach.”
Syracuse already has three 2015 commits in 6-6 Trenton (N.J.) Catholic guard Malachi Richardson; 6-4 guard Frank Howard of Paul VI in Fairfax, Va. and 6-9 forward Tyler Lydon of New Hampton (N.H.) Prep.
Syracuse is stil recruiting 6-9 forwards Thomas Bryant of Huntington (W.V.) Prep and 6-9 Moustapha Diagne of Sparta (N.J.) Pope John.
As for N.C. State, Govan said, “N.C. State is also a great school in a great conference. I would be tested every game.”
Prior to going out West with his New York Lightning squad, Govan had home visits with Seton Hall, UConn, Georgetown and Stanford.
“I’m wide open, just enjoying the recruiting process,” Govan told SNY.tv recently. “I want to take things slow.”
