Less than a week after committing to Oregon State, transferring Maryland guard Nick Faust is re-opening his recruitment in the wake of Craig Robinson’s firing.
“Basically, I’m opening my recruitment back up,” Faust told SNY.tv by phone Tuesday night.
He added: “I’m open to everyone.”
The 6-foot-6 Baltimore native said he would still consider Oregon State “depending on who the coach is.”
Former UCLA coach Ben Howland is considered the clubhouse favorite to get the Oregon State job.
Faust said Richmond, Cleveland State, Siena, UCLA, George Mason and George Washington were also involved in his recruitment.
“I guess I gotta do this whole process all over again and really get to know coaches this time and things like that,” he said. “It’s just a longer process.”
Faust averaged 9.4 points and 3.7 rebounds last season for the Terps. He is one of four Maryland players transferring. Shaq Cleare (Texas), Seth Allen (undecided) and Roddy Peters (undecided) are the others.
