ARLINGTON, Texas — Kentucky sophomore big man Willie Cauley-Stein is hoping to play Saturday night against Wisconsin in the national semifinals despite head coach John Calipari calling him doubtful earlier this week.
“Don’t count me out yet,” the 7-footer told Kyle Tucker of the Courier-Journal.
Cauley-Stein has an ankle injury and told Tucker he isn’t sure if it’s a stress fracture or not.
“I’m still figuring out if I want to give it a try or not,” he told Tucker. “There’s always a possibility. It’s kind of up to me and my family if I want to give it a try or not.”
Cauley-Stein is averaging 6.8 points and 6.1 rebounds on the season.
