JaQuan Lyle Down to 3 Schools

JaQuan LyleJaQuan Lyle is down to three schools and still plans on announcing on Wednesday.

Kansas is no longer in the mix for the 6-foot-5 Huntington (W.V.) Prep guard, who is home on spring break in Evansville, Ind., huddling with his family on a decision.

That leaves Oregon, Oklahoma State and Memphis.

Sources told SNY.tv that Kansas was no longer recruiting Lyle, and he confirmed by text he is down to three schools.

Lyle most recently visited Memphis after tripping to Kansas and Oklahoma State. He previously visited Oregon.

Kansas needs a combo guard and Lyle is tight with incoming Kansas big man Cliff Alexander. Thus, the Jayhawks had been perceived as a strong contender.

“Me and Cliff, we’ve been tight since about our eighth-grade year and our relationship just grew, so now he’s like a brother to me,” Lyle told SNY.tv. “Just the opportunity to play with him would be wonderful. Cliff makes me better, I make him better. Every big man  wants a point guard who can get them the ball in the right place that they can score, make the job easier for them. And every point guard wants a big man who can get them open and get them an opportunity to make them look better.”

Kansas remains in the hunt for 6-11 Texas big man Myles Turner, who recently visited Kansas and Duke and still plans on visiting Texas.
