Melo: ‘I support what my wife said’ on free agency

Carmelo Anthony and his wife are on the same page when it comes to his future plans.

And that could bode well for the Knicks going forward.

“That’s my wife, I support her,” Anthony said after going for 24 points and 9 rebounds as the Knicks beat the Celtics, 114-88, Wednesday at Madison Square Garden. “I support what she said. I don’t think she said anything wrong; it’s a good thing for her to say that….Go get the book, though.”

Anthony is set to become a free agent in the summer, and his wife, La La Anthony, said this week on Bravo TV’s “Watch What Happens Live” that she would be surprised if her husband were to leave the Knicks.

“I definitely think he will stay,” she said. “I know that he wants to stay, and I support him wherever he wants to go.”

A Chicago-based reporter asked Anthony if he had given any consideration to his future plans amid reports that he is considering joining the Bulls this summer.

“Not at all,” he said. “I don’t have [a relationship] with Thibs [Tom Thibodeau]. That was a good one, though.”
