Rashad Vaughn Targeting Decision in February or March

Findlay Prep guard Rashad Vaughn is targeting a college decision by late February or early March, he told Jeff Borzello of CBSSports.com Monday at the Hoophall Classic.

“I got relationships with all the coaches, so it’s just where I fit in and can get better and play,” Vaughn said after scoring 12 points in Findlay’s 73-44 win over Wesleyan Christian (N.C.). It was his first game back from a left knee injury.

The 6-foot-5 Vaughn could announce his choice by Twitter.

Kentucky coach John Calipari and assistant Orlando Antigua arrived at halftime of the game and Vaughn reiterated he plans to take official visits to both Kentucky and Kansas. Iowa State assistant Matt Abdelmassih was also on hand.

“It was fun,” Vaughn told Borzello of seeing Calipari. “I talked to him a couple days ago, he told me was going to come out.”

Vaughn previously told SNY.tv he considered visiting Kentucky over the weekend when he was in Ohio for the Flyin’ to the Hoop Invitational but snow stopped him.

As of now, Vaughn’s only slated visit is to North Carolina Feb. 15. North Carolina coach Roy Williams recently visited him in Las Vegas.

He has already visited Iowa State and UNLV and both schools remain in good position. The Iowa State crowd gave him an extremely warm welcome when he visited there in November, and UNLV is a local option.

Kansas, which is also pursuing uncommitted Huntington Prep guard JaQuan Lyle, also remains in the mix. Lyle also said he plans on cutting his list soon.
