Kentucky Checks Out 2015 Forward Rodriguez

Kentucky assistant coach Orlando Antigua recently watched Jeromy Rodriguez, a 2015 Dominican forward from Sparta (N.J.) Pope John.

“Coach Antigua has contacted me a few times about him and has been to one game,” Pope John coach Jason Hasson told SNY.tv.

“His recruitment will pick up more as the season goes, I’m sure.”

Rutgers and Syracuse have also watched the 6-foot-8 Rodriguez, averaging  10.4 points and 13.4 rebounds.

“He is a very athletic 3/4 man who is an elite rebounder and finisher,” Hasson said. “He rebounds out of his area as good as anyone I’ve ever coached. He can guard every position including point guards.”

Pope John also features 2015 forward Moustapha Diagne, who has been offered by Syracuse, among others, and is expected to attend the Feb. 1 Duke-Syracuse game.
