Tom Izzo to Meet Friday with Trevon Bluiett

Michigan State coach Tom Izzo will have a school visit Friday with Indianapolis Park Tudor small forward Trevon Bluiett, his father told SNY.tv.

The 6-foot-5 senior shooting guard recently decommitted from UCLA and is now considering Butler, Michigan State, Xavier and Memphis.

Following an official visit to Michigan State last week and a trip to Butler Saturday for practice, Bluiett also visited Xavier on Wednesday.

“They will be better than most predict,” Rey Bluiett said of Xavier, a new entry into the Big East under coach Chris Mack. “It was a well-structured practice with a balance of skillwork and game prep. It seems like a good place to get better.”

As for what Mack said about Bluiett, Rey indicated the coach said, “He’s what they need to become one of the [best] teams in the country.”

Last week, Blueitt visited MSU from Wednesday-Friday.

“It was good to watch them guys go through practice,” Rey said previously. “Before and after practice Trevon got to talk to a couple players. It was good to see the insides of a program.”

He added: “[Coach Izzo] said Trevon will come there right away from Day One being a big part of what they do. So that’s always encouraging, hearing that from the head man. They have an idea of how he fits into what they’re trying to do.”
