Sheldon Jeter to Pitt; Martin to Announce Next Week

Sheldon Jeter, a former Vanderbilt forward now at Polk State (FL) College, committed to Pitt on his visit, sources confirmed to SNY.tv.

The 6-foot-7 Jeter will practice but not play games at Polk State this season in order to preserve his eligibility at Pitt beginning in 2014, the Sporting News reported.

Vandy coach Kevin Stallings reportedly initially blocked his transfer to Pitt, but now Jeter ends up where he always wanted to go.

Jeter, a native of Beaver Falls (Pa.), is Pitt’s first commit in 2014.

They are also hoping to land Bothell (WA) forward Josh Martin, who will announce next week between Pitt, Minnesota and Florida State.

He told SNY.tv Saturday that he had made up his mind while visiting Pitt with Jeter and will disclose his choice next week.
