Former Indiana Commits Blackmon, Lyles to Visit Kentucky for Big Blue Madness

Two former Indiana pledges — James Blackmon and Trey Lyles — will take official visits to Kentucky for Big Blue Madness on Oct. 18.

The 6-foot-3 Blackmon confirmed to SNY.tv that he will take an official to Kentucky then after tripping to the school for an unofficial Thursday.

“It was good,” he said of the visit.

Asked what Kentucky coach John Calipari told him he liked about him, Blackmon said, “The way I can score and shoot and he can develop me all around.”

Blackmon will now visit Louisville on Friday and Michigan on Saturday.

As for the 6-10 Lyles, he confirmed by Twitter an earlier report on SNY.tv that he will take an official to Kentucky the same weekend Blackmon will be there.

The Canadian sensation will also take an official to Louisville this weekend (Aug. 31) and to Florida Oct. 5.

He is also considering Butler and has said he will sign in the spring.

“Everything is neck-and-neck,” Tom Lyles, Trey’s father, recently told SNY.tv. “It’s down to four schools. Florida, Butler, Louisville and Kentucky. Each program has expressed superior interest in what they can do for Trey and what Trey can offer them. With the fact that things are very new as to going through this whole process…It’s been quite a eye-opening experience to say the very least.”
