On Sunday, one of the top point guards in the class of 2014 cut his list to half a dozen schools

Alex Robinson announced that he will make his college choice between Memphis, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M, TCU, Vanderbilt and Florida State.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound point guard out of Mansfield Timberview (Tex.) High School, explained why he decided to cut his list at this point.

“Well, I’m in my senior year right now, ” Robinson told SNY.tv. “I didn’t really want to waste any time.”

One of the most coveted floor leaders in the country spoke briefly about what will tell him that the school is the right choice.

“Coaching staff and playing time are big, “Robinson said. “I really want to start, but I just want to become the best guard that I can be.”

At the moment, there are no front runners in Robinson’s mind, but he’s just waiting for it all to pan out.

“I don’t have any favorites right now,” he said. “I’m not sure when I’m going to make the decision, but when I do have a decision, it won’t be long before I announce.”
