Myles Turner Trims to 8

Myles Turner, who enjoyed arguably the biggest leap of any 2014 recruit this summer, has trimmed his list to eight schools.

From 26.

The 6-foot-11 Turner out of Euless (TX) Trinity is down to Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Arizona, Ohio State, Texas and Oklahoma State, his father, David Turner, confirmed by text.

Turner cut a slew of schools from his unwieldy list: Arkansas, Baylor, UConn, Georgetown, Indiana, Kansas State, Marquette, Miami, North Carolina, N. C. State, Oklahoma, Oregon, SMU, Stanford, Texas A&M, UT-Arlington, UCLA and UNLV.

Turner is slated to visit Kansas for “Late Night in the Phog” Oct. 4 but hasn’t set any other officials.

He and fellow Texas product Emmanuel Mudiay have discussed a potential package, with Kentucky, Kansas and Oklahoma State among the potential destinations for both.

Mudiay recently cut his list to five schools: Kentucky, Kansas, Oklahoma State, SMU and Baylor.

After winning the Adidas Nations event this past weekend in Los Angeles, Turner is slated to be in New York this weekend for the Big Strick Classic.
