Gary Clark Visits N.C. State, Has Trips Planned

Gary Clark, a 6-foot-7 power forward from Clayton (N.C.) High School, visited N.C. State Thursday and has several other visits planned.

An underrated big man who can score inside and out, Clark averaged 17 points and 14 rebounds two years ago and was named to the Associated Press All-State team last season, according to HighSchoolOT.com.

“He is a player who is very good but not a finished product,” Clayton coach Denny Medlin told SNY.tv. “Nobody knows what his ceiling is but he’s going to keep getting better, and he’s already very good.”

Medlin said Clark is also considering Miami, Cincinnati, Clemson and Wake Forest.

He is set to take an official to Cincinnati Sept. 13-15, and plans to also visit Miami.

N.C. State is already loaded with guards and is looking to add bigs in the Class of 2014.

The Wolfpack also offered 2015 6-8 power forward Alex Owens of Orlando (FL) Oak Ridge, ranked No. 67 in the Class of 2015 by Yahoo.
