Jordan Barnett to Texas

Jordan Barnett, a 6-foot-7 small forward from St. Louis Christian Brothers College High, has verbally committed to Texas.

Barnett also considered Michigan, Michigan State, Florida, Stanford and Iowa, his father told SNY.tv.

“His favorite players are Kevin Durant and Dwyane Wade and that played heavily into his decision,” Barnett’s father, Bob Bonner, told SNY.tv.

“Most importantly, my son is an honors student at a college preparatory high school. Therefore, the academic standards at Texas were the most important factor to his mother, myself and him. We evaluated the team, the young players already there and truly feel he can contribute and would fit in well both on and off the court.”

Barnett is ranked No. 85 by Rivals.com.

“I’m a hustle player,” he recently told UMHoops.com. “I’m a defensive player first and offense comes second.”
