Carmelo Anthony was confronted by TMZ so take it for what it’s worth.

That said, Anthony was asked straight up if he could see himself wearing purple and gold in the future. Anthony can opt out of his deal with the Knicks in 2014 and is reportedly being targeted by the Lakers.

“Ummmmm, I doubt it,” he said in the above video.

Anthony and LeBron James can both become free agents next summer, and Anthony was asked if he and King James talked about playing together — in L.A.

“I don’t have them conversations, man,” he said. “I don’t have them conversations.

Anthony and James could both potentially land in Los Angeles in 2014, but a lot would have to happen before then.

“We just won two gold medals,” Anthony said of playing with James. “I mean, we play on the USA team so…”

Knicks GM Glen Grunwald recently said he would like to keep Anthony in New York.

“It’s really premature to talk about that,” he said. “But we obviously love Carmelo. We think he’s great for New York and New York’s great for him.

“We see it being a long-term successful partnership with him as we go forward but right now it’s just too early to say anything other than to say we’re looking forward to this coming season.”
