  • Kansas signee Darryn Peterson goes off for Prolific Prep in battle of top prospects

    By SAM LANCE

Kansas signee Darryn Peterson had a whopping 58 points to lead Prolific Prep past Utah Prep, 88-86, in Atlanta during the Grind Session on Saturday night. This battle featured the top-two prospects in the country in Peterson and BYU signee A.J. Dybantsa.

Peterson not only had 58 points, but he had the game-winning shot.

“That will go down as one of the best high school games and one of the best high school performances of all time,” Prolific Prep head coach Ryan Bernardi told ZAGSBLOG. “Great win for us.”

Prolific Prep has now beaten Utah Prep twice this season during the Grind Session. Dybantsa had 49 points in the loss for Utah Prep.

Peterson averaged 44.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game across his two games in Atlanta, per Trent Markwith. Peterson broke Prolific Prep’s single game scoring record with his 58 points on Saturday.
