NEW YORK — Jalil Bethea is closing in on a college announcement.
The 6-foot-4 guard from Archbishop Wood (PA) and the Team Final Nike EYBL program plans to announce his college choice on Wednesday at 3 p.m. at his school, his coach John Mosco told ZAGSBLOG.
Bethea is down to four schools: Miami, Villanova, Syracuse and Kansas. He most recently visited Miami last week, and then canceled upcoming visits to Syracuse and Alabama.

He broke down his remaining four for ZAGSBLOG.
Miami: “They say mostly the same things as the other schools, but they showed me a lot of different things. They probably say the same things but they showed me a lot of different things. They showed me my stats that no coach ever showed me before, like points per possession-type stuff.
“And that was just a good experience, because that was my first time ever going out there and they welcomed me pretty good so it was a good visit.”
Asked what role he would play, he said, “They said I would just be a player out there, a position-less player basically. A two guard, a shooting guard.”
Asked if he could see himself playing there, he said, “Yeah, I could see myself playing there.”
He also said of coach Jim Larranaga: “Coach L is one of the best coaches in college basketball history and he wins. I like playing for winners.”
Villanova: “Villanova is good, they been there from the start. Close to home and I have a good relationship with everybody.”
Syracuse: “I feel like that was the school I had the best relationship with the staff.”
Kansas: “Kansas was good. First time I spent time with Bill Self [on the visit]. He’s a good person all-around and everybody on the staff was great as well.”
