Class of 2023 Christ the King guard Devin Vanterpool is headed to Florida Atlantic, he told ZAGSBLOG.
He visited FAU and St. Bonaventure, where his father, David Vanterpool, is in the Hall of Fame and was the team’s leading scorer his senior year in 1994-95. Villanova and Howard were also involved.
“I’m committing to FAU and I chose them because it was the best fit for me,” the 6-foot-4, 183-pound guad said.

Under coach Dusty May, FAU went 31-3 this season and won the Conference USA Tournament title.
Now Vanterpool will be part of the program’s future.
“My role would be a big athletic guard who can defend and make shots,” he said.
“It will prepare me for the [pros] because they will develop me and make me into the best player I can be.”
“He’s a very tough two-way player,” said Christ the King assistant CJ Sneed. “He does it all. He’s a knock-down shooter, can finish at the rim solid, is a rebounder and elite defender averaging 1 block and 2 steals.
“He shows up for his team in big moments.”
