Northern Arizona hits logo buzzer beater to stun No. 1 Eastern Washington in Big Sky Tournament

By CHARLIE PARENT

No. 9 seed Northern Arizona stunned the Big Sky regular season champions Eastern Washington 81-80 on Sunday thanks to a logo buzzer beater from freshman guard Oakland Fort.

Eastern Washington were on an 18-game win streak before dropping their last two in regular season’s game, and ultimately seeing their season come to a close in Sunday’s thriller.

For Northern Arizona (11-22, 5-13 Big Sky), Fort finished with a career high 15-points coming off the bench as the Lumberjacks advance in dramatic fashion to the Big Sky semifinals.

They will face the winner of No. 4 Montana and No. 5 Idaho State on Tuesday.
