NCAA Selection Committee releases projected Top 16 seeds for March Madness

By ADAM ZAGORIA

The NCAA Selection Committee on Saturday released its projected Top 16 seeds for the NCAA Tournament.

Five of the 16 are from the Big 12 Conference.

“It’s been an incredible season thus far for the [Big 12], with high-quality wins for several of the conference’s teams, and that is reflected in this unveiling,” Chris Reynolds, the vice president for intercollegiate athletics at Bradley University and the chair of the Division I men’s basketball committee, told NCAA.com. “While we evaluate these teams as independents, there’s no getting around the fact that the Big 12 is having a great year.”

The No. 1 seeds are: Alabama, Houston Purdue and Kansas.

The 2 seeds: Texas, Arizona. Baylor, UCLA

The 3 seeds: Tennessee, Virginia, Iowa State, Kansas State

And the 4 seeds: Indiana Marquette Gonzaga Xavier

Selection Sunday is March 12.
