Naas Cunningham, the No. 3 overall recruit in the class of 2024, has cut his list to five schools: Duke, UCLA, Rutgers, Memphis, and Kansas.
The 6-foot-7 forward is the highest ranked recruit to play for the Overtime Elite League and one of the first to follow the league’s “scholarship” program, which allows him to retain college eligibility.
“I felt that it was the best place for me to develop. I’m keeping my (NCAA) eligibility,” Cunningham said in an interview with ZAGSBLOG in April. “After Overtime, I’ll still have multiple options on what I want to do. I still get the school aspect that I would get at a high school, so I get professional training plus a good education. It’s really the best fit for me, I thought.”
Cunningham has visited Rutgers, UCLA, and Duke and will visit Memphis Wednesday-Thursday for the UCF game. Memphis assistant coach Andy Borman coached Cunningham with the NY Rens on the Nike EYBL circuit.
He also held offers from Kentucky, Arkansas, Florida State, Indiana, and Creighton, among others.
There is no current timetable in terms of when Cunningham will commit.
