AP Poll: Purdue stays No. 1 despite loss, Marquette leads five Big East teams at No. 10, N.C. State enters poll for first time since 2019

Despite falling to Indiana on Saturday for just its second loss this season, Purdue (22-2) remained No. 1 in Monday’s Associated Press Top 25 poll.

Indiana moved up three spots to No. 18 after the win.

The Boilermakers were followed by No. 2 Houston, No. 3 Alabama, No. 4 Arizona and No. 5 Texas.

Marquette jumped four spots to No. 10 and is one of five Big East teams along with No. 13 Xavier, No. 20 Providence, No. 21 UConn and No. 23 Creighton.

N.C. State entered the poll for the first time since 2019 at No. 22.

Rutgers returned to the poll at No. 24 after beating Michigan State Saturday at Madison Square Garden.

The Scarlet Knights visit Indiana Tuesday.
