Labaron Philon, a four-star point guard in the 2024 class, committed to Auburn on Friday.
The 6-foot-4, 175-pound junior out of Mobile (Ala.) Baker HS chose Auburn over Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and others.
“I chose Auburn because I felt it was the best school to put me in a great situation, even outside of basketball,” Philon told On3. “I believe coach Bruce Pearl can get me to the next level with the greatness of coaching he has.”
He added: “I would describe my game as a combo guard, one of the top guards in the country that can get it done on both ends of the floor. I can score the ball at will and play on or off the ball.”
He is the second Auburn commit this week following Hudson Catholic (NJ) point guard Tahaad Pettiford.
They join four-star big man Peyton Marshall in Auburn’s 2024 class.
