Sixty-two athletes will participate in a USA Basketball Junior National Team minicamp from Oct. 7-10 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
Minicamp participants will represent the high school graduating classes of 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. Players and coaches were selected by the USA Basketball Men’s Developmental National Team Committee. In addition to on-court drills and scrimmages, the Junior National Team members and their parents will participate in a series of educational programs presented by USA Basketball, NCAA and NBA Player Development Program focused on NCAA eligibility, mental health issues and life skills development.
“USA Basketball is excited about the elite group of players that will be part of the Junior National Team minicamp,” said Sean Ford, committee chair and USA Basketball’s Men’s National Team director. “It’s a pleasure to return several gold medalists and training camp members from this summer’s competitions, as well as welcome a group of young, talented players into the program.”
Representing the class of 2023 are Matt Bewley, Omaha Bielew, Layden Blocker, Kanaan Carlyle, Coen Carr, Stephon Castle, Jacolb Cole, Mookie Cook, Eric Dailey Jr., Justin Edwards, Dennis Evans III, Jeremy Fears Jr., Caleb Foster, Brandon Garrison, Ron Holland, Aden Holloway, AJ Johnson, Scotty Middleton, Justin McBride, Jared McCain, Tyler Smith and Wesley Yates III.
The class of 2024 attendees include Airious Bailey, Annor Boateng, David Castillo, Ian Jackson, Ryan Jones, Karter Knox, Vyctorius Miller, Tahaad Pettiford and Jamari Phillips.
The class of 2025 will be represented by Cameron Boozer, Cayden Boozer, Jerry Easter II, Jeremiah Green, Jalen Haralson, Isiah Harwell, Jamier Jones, Nyk Lewis, Alier Maluk, JJ Mandaquit, Chris Nwuli, Koa Peat, Darryn Peterson, Jayden Quaintance, TJ Stuttley, Meleek Thomas, Bryson Tiller, Nigel Walls and Sebastian Williams-Adams.
The 2023-25 group features a multitude of players with USA Basketball 5×5 and 3×3 experience from this past summer. Castillo, Evans III, Fears Jr., Holland, Jackson, Knox and Peat represented USA Basketball at the 2022 FIBA U17 World Cup, where the U.S. won its sixth consecutive gold medal. Carlyle, Castle, Dailey Jr., Garrison and McCain were members of USA Basketball’s 2022 FIBA U18 Americas Championship team, which captured its sixth straight gold medal. Carr and Dailey Jr. were also members of the 2022 FIBA 3×3 U18 World Cup team.
For the class of 2026, AJ Dybantsa, Sam Funches, Caleb Gaskins, Cam Holmes, Caleb Holt, Brandon McCoy, Jalen Montonati, Nas Price, Jordan Smith Jr., Tyran Stokes, Jaden Toombs and Elijah Williams will be in attendance.
Minicamp coaches include Dominic Amorosa, Frank Bennett, Rob Brost, Marshall Cho, Steve Dagostino, Scott Fitch, Aaron Gray, Nick LoGalbo, Chet Mason, Al Thiero, Steve Turner, Ras Vanderloo and Sharman White.
