Class of 2024 five-star center Yves Missi has had a busy summer with strong play on the Nike EYBL Circuit and a recent high school transfer.
The 6-foot-10, 210-pound center out of Cameroon, recently announced that he will be transferring from West Nottingham (MD) to Prolific (CA) Prep.
“I just felt like it was the right place for me to develop in the best way my basketball skills,” Missi said.
Prolific Prep head coach Ryan Bernardi said that Missi is “the perfect fit” for their program “on and off the court.”
“(I’m) super excited about Yves joining our program at Prolific Prep,” Bernardi said. “He is an outstanding person from a great family that has been mentored well by PSA Cardinals. Yves impacts the game on both ends of the floor with his athleticism, skill and work ethic.”
Ranked by 247Sports Composite as the No. 4 center and No. 20 overall prospect in the class of 2024, Missi already holds offers from several top programs with his most recent offer coming from the staff at LSU on July 15.
“From what I know they have a good program that has seen a lot of pros, like Shaq (O’Neal), his son, etc.” Missi said.
Outside of LSU, Missi also holds offers from the likes of Stanford, Georgia Tech, Georgetown, Virginia Tech, Harvard, Ohio State, Baylor, UConn, Michigan, Indiana, Kansas, Syracuse, UCLA, St. John’s and DePaul, among others.
Missi, who is originally from Cameroon, is currently back home after an excellent performance at Peach Jam. He said he will “probably” plan visits when he gets back to the United States.
“For now, I’m still thinking about it,” he said.
Describing his game, Missi said “I’m a center who can run the floor with an elite ability to block shots. I’m someone who can shoot the ball, has a good footwork and is an underrated passer.”
