CHICAGO — Over the past weekend, several talented prospects took the court during the 17u UAA finals at Wintrust Sports Complex. While multiple players made notable impacts for their respective squads, I went back through the box scores to determine some of the best performers from the weekend.
So without further ado, here are your 2022 UAA finals teams, via ZAGSBLOG.com.
UAA FINALS FIRST TEAM:
Vasean Allette — Canada Elite
Averages: 24.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists (47.4% FG, 34.4% 3FG)
Michael Williams — Team Thrill
Averages: 18.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists (43.2% FG, 45.8% 3FG)
Ryan Beasley — West Coast Elite-Norcal
Averages: 20.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists (47.7% FG, 28.6% 3FG)
Elmarko Jackson — We R 1
Averages: 15.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.6 assists (42.4% FG, 25% 3FG)
Sultan Adewale — Team Rio
Averages: 17.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 0.8 assists (51.4% FG, 37.5% 3FG)
First Team break down…
If I had to give an MVP of the tournament, it would be Allette. He did a little bit of everything for Canada Elite. He was the primary ball handler, defensive leader and of course best scorer. Allette also totaled 11 steals throughout the tournament.
Williams was key for Team Thrill in its run the UAA championship. He was a problem defensively, totaling a tournament-high 18 steals while typically guarding the other team’s best player. He also shot the ball well from the outside.
Beasley was the point guard for a West Coast Elite-Norcal team that made an incredible run to the championship game. The point guard anchored the offense, scored at all three levels and kept his teammates involved. He also showed his competitiveness throughout the tournament. Beasley was Norcal’s vocal leader on the court.
Jackson was arguably the most impressive player during the UAA finals, showcasing his quick burst off the dribble and playmaking skills. He did a little bit of everything for We R 1 and propelled them to the semifinals. Jackson hit several tough jumpers and had college coaches raving about his abilities.
Finally, we come to Adewale. The power forward dominated the paint all weekend and averaged the second-most rebounds per game in the tournament behind Derik Queen. He was also very efficient offensively in the paint and from 3.
UAA FINALS SECOND TEAM:
Stephon Castle — ATL Xpress
Averages: 16.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists (39.7% FG, 30.4% 3FG)
Blue Cain — BMaze Elite
Averages: 17.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists (48.6% FG, 45.4% 3FG)
Parker Friedrichsen — KC Run GMC
Averages: 17.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists (43.6% FG, 41.3% 3FG)
JP Estrella — Middlesex Magic
Averages: 14.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 0.8 assists (50.7% FG, 33.3% 3FG)
Derik Queen — Team Thrill
Averages: 13.8 points, 11.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists (49.3% FG, 0-for-3 3FG)
UAA FINALS THIRD TEAM:

Silas Demary Jr. — Team Curry

Zachary Davidson — West Coast Elite
