Five-Star forward Omaha Biliew set to commit Tuesday night

By JACOB POLACHECK

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — Class of 2023 five-star forward Omaha Biliew will announce his college decision Tuesday night on ESPN.

He earlier told ZAGSBLOG he planned to announce “right after Peach Jam.”

“I’m coming down to a decision real soon,” Biliew said. “I’m just focused on what we’ve got over here now over these last two days. After that, I feel like I’ll ultimately come to a decision. Probably right after Peach Jam.”

Biliew, the 6-foot-8, 210-pound power forward from Waukee (IA) and the Mokan Basketball AAU Program, is currently considering Kansas, Oregon, Iowa State and the G League Ignite. He broke down each program:

Kansas: “They’re a great, great, great school. They just won. I’m a winner and I want a winning program. The culture is rich. It’s a really rich culture. I’m really high on Kansas and Bill Self.”

Oregon: “Same thing. They love their bigs and they love versatility. I love that fit over there and these are great options I have.”

Iowa State: “Same thing. It’s my hometown school. I love the culture over there and the love that Iowa State has since I was a kid. What T.J. Otzelberger has going on over there is really great.”

G League Ignite: “Everybody’s dream is to make it to the NBA, so to know that I’m that close to achieving that goal is that great. Being where my muses are at, it just makes G League so amusing to me.”

Ranked by 247Sports Composite as the No. 6 power forward and No. 13 overall prospect in the class of 2023, Biliew broke down the decision-making process:

“Ultimately, what feels better to me at heart? What is the right fit for me and what do I feel in my gut? All of my options are great options,” he said. “It just comes down to me knowing what’s going to prepare me the most to achieve my goals.”

Biliew finished with 14 points on 4-for-8 shooting with six rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes of play on Friday evening en route to a 68-53 victory for Mokan.

“It was a great win for us,” Biliew said. “As a team, it catapulted us. It gives us the confidence we need to achieve our goal to win Peach Jam.”
