Class of 2024 five-star guard Boogie Fland picks up Kentucky offer

By JACOB POLACHECK

Class of 2024 five-star guard Boogie Fland has received an offer from Kentucky, his coach tells ZAGSBLOG.

“Anytime a player in your program receives a scholarship offer is special,” Stepinac coach Pat Massaroni said. “Obviously the blue-blood offers are less across the country so for Boogie to receive this is a testament to how hard he has worked and what a bright future he has ahead of him.”

Fland, the 6-foot-3, 165-pound point guard from Archbishop Stepinac (NY) and the PSA Cardinals AAU program, is ranked by 247Sports.com Composite as the No. 2 point guard and No. 13 overall prospect in the class of 2024.

Kentucky head coach John Calipari and assistant Orlando Antigua recently saw Fland play at the U-17 World Cup in Málaga, Spain, where he team won a gold medal with Team USA.

Among players to also hold offers from Kentucky include class of 2024 Cardinal Hayes (NY) shooting guard Ian Jackson and 2023 Camden (NJ) guard DJ Wagner, both of whom were on the U17 team.

Fland currently holds offers from Indiana, Michigan, Oregon, Kansas, Georgia, LSU, Providence, UConn, Illinois, Virginia Tech, St. Bonaventure, UCLA, TCU, Seton Hall, Kansas State, St. John’s, Miami, Pittsburgh and Maryland, among others.

Fland took an unofficial visit to St. John’s on June 13.
