Towson adds Seton Hall transfer Ryan Conway

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Ryan Conway is going home.

The Maryland native is transferring to Towson from Seton Hall, he announced via social media.

“I’m coming home,” he announced.

“I’ve know the coach [Pat Skerry] since middle school,” Conway said. “He actually was one of my first D-1 offers. It’s back at home and I believe I have a lot to bring as far as their team, I look to be a leader , a well-rounded point guard and a winner.”

A 6-foot-1 sophomore point guard who red-shirted this past season, Conway was not in the mix going forward under new Seton Hall coach Shaheen Holloway.

The Maryland native originally chose Seton Hall in May 2020 over Vanderbilt, Providence, Marquette, Stanford and Rutgers.

He was ranked No. 120 in the nation in his class in the final Rivals rankings.

At Towson, Conway will be a big addition to a team returning four starters and three all-conference first- and second-team players.

“I think Ryan loves the idea of playing at back home in Baltimore,” said his high school coach at Dulaney, Matt Lochte.

“His older brother Chris Conway is also on the coaching staff at Towson. Ryan will have an opportunity to make an instant impact on an already very good Towson team. I think it’s a home run for both Ryan and Towson! Towson was like top 50 or 60 in the country last season and they return a ton. I think the Tigers will be really good next season and expect Ryan to be a huge part of that! Ryan’s a kid that lives in the gym and currently stronger than he’s ever been. He’s an explosive scoring point guard who the Towson fans will love! I can’t wait!”
