Arkansas coach Eric Musselman adds 4 transfers to bolster front court

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Arkansas coach Eric Musselman continued his offseason overhaul by adding four frontcourt transfers in recent days.

The Razorbacks on Thursday landed a commitment from 6-foot-9 Arizona State transfer Jalen Graham, who averaged 9.9 points and 4.6 rebounds as a junior under coach Bobby Hurley.

On Wednesday, the school announced the additions of Rhode Island transfers Makhel and Makhi Mitchell.

The Mitchells ranked 1-2 in both scoring, rebounding and blocked shots for the Rams this past season, combining to average 20.3 points, 12.9 rebounds and 3.8 blocked shots per game.

Makhel led URI with 10.7 ppg and 74 blocked shots, ranking 25th in the NCAA at 2.39 blocks per game while averaging 5.6 rebounds. Makhi led the Rams with 7.3 rebounds per game while ranking second in scoring (9.9) and blocked shots (43).

Last week Arkansas also added 6-9 Missouri transfer Trevon Brazile, who averaged 6.6 points and 5.1 rebounds as a freshman.

Musselman also has a six-man recruiting class ranked No. 2 nationally by 247Sports.com that is highlighted by McDonald’s All-Americans Nick Smith Jr. and Jordan Walsh.
