Kentucky’s Dontaie Allen enters Transfer Portal

By CHARLIE PARENT

The offseason moves for one of the nation’s biggest Blue Blood programs have arrived. With many moves expected around Kentucky, redshirt sophomore Dontaie Allen has gotten the ball rolling.

The 6-foot-6 sharpshooting guard announced Thursday that he has entered the transfer portal.

Allen was a four-star recruit, ranked 99th recruit in the class of 2019 out of Falmouth (KY) according to 247 Sports.

At Kentucky, Allen saw a steady decrease in minutes as his career went on after redshirting his first season. His second year saw Allen hit on 40% of his three-pointers, but the 2021-2022 season didn’t give him much opportunity. Allen ended up scoring 3.9 points per game in 41 appearances for the Wildcats.

Allen will look for bigger opportunities for himself next season as he’ll have immediate eligibility.
