Three-star guard Parker Friedrichsen announced his commitment to Oklahoma State on Monday, becoming the first commit in the Cowboys’ 2022 recruiting class.
The 6-foot-3, 165-pound shooting guard from Bixby (OK), chose OSU over offers from Cincinnati, Creighton, Iowa, Nebraska, and Purdue, among others.
“Playing for Coach Mike (Boynton), the people there, basketball and administration and it’s close to home,” Friedrichsen told ZAGSBLOG on his reasons behind committing.
Ranked by 247Sports.com as the No. 20 shooting guard and the No. 92 overall prospect in the nation, Friedrichsen is the first commit in Oklahoma State’s 2023 recruiting class.
“I’m someone that can space the floor on offense, create for others and is always playing hard trying to win,” Friedrichsen said.
The Cowboys’ currently have the nation’s No. 75-ranked recruiting class in 2022 with a commitment from four-star forward Quion Williams.
As the first commit in OSU’s 2023 recruiting, Friedrichsen says he’s looking to recruit a number of players to join him at Oklahoma State, including four-star center Brandon Garrison.
“The state of Oklahoma has a lot of great players,” he said. “So, I will be talking to them first.”
