Three-Star forward Darren Buchanan commits to Virginia Tech

Class of 2022 three-star forward Darren Buchanan has committed to Virginia Tech, he announced Saturday via Twitter.

The 6-foot-7, 225-pound small forward from Woodrow Wilson (DC),chose Virginia Tech over offers from Rutgers, Georgetown, George Washington and George Mason, among others.

Ranked by 247Sports.com as the No. 62 small forward in the nation, Buchanan joins four-star guard Rodney Rice, three-star guard MJ Collins and three-star center Patrick Wessler in the Hokies’ 2022 recruiting class.

Buchanan averaged 17.1 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game during the 2021-22 season, leading his team to a DC State Athletic Association Championship and a 27-4 overall record.
