Class of ’24 wing Darren Harris visits Duke after picking up offer

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Darren Harris, the 6-foot-6 wing from Paul VI (VA), visited Duke this weekend after picking up a scholarship offer earlier this month.

He reconnected with former Paul VI and current Duke freshman guard Trevor Keels on the visit.

“The Duke visit was great, the atmosphere at the game [vs. Florida State] was crazy,” he said. “Their message to me is they love how I do all the little things, along with my shooting ability. They love how I make winning plays.”

Virginia Tech, Georgetown, Villanova, Ohio State and George Mason are also involved. He will next visit Ohio State March 6.

“Darren already possesses an elite skill with his shooting ability and range and he has the potential to round out his game over the next two-plus years,” Paul VI coach Glenn Farello said. “At 6’5 and 200 pounds, Darren can grown into being a versatile defender and will continue to make strides in going off the bounce and creating opportunities for others since he will draw so much attention shooting.”

Duke already has the No. 1 recruiting classes in 2022 and ’23 under coach-in-waiting Jon Scheyer.
