Five-Star forward Jarace Walker commits to Houston

By JACOB POLACHECK

Class of 2022 five-star forward Jarace Walker has committed to Houston, he announced Thursday, becoming the highest-ranked recruit to commit to the Cougars in the modern-recruiting era.

The 6-foot-8, 220-pound power forward from IMG (FL) Academy and the Team Thrill AAU Program, chose Houston over Alabama and Auburn.

“I think his potential is unlimited,” Team Thrill Program Director DonnellMookieDobbins said. “I think his versatility is the best in high school.”

He joins a 2022 Houston recruiting class that features four-star forward Terrance Arceneaux and four-star guard Emanuel Sharp.

Walker took multiple official visits to Houston, including his most recent on Oct. 29.

“He is as effective with his back to the basket as he is in face-up situations,” Dobbins said. “He can guard any position on the floor and I believe his passing and rebounding abilities will separate him from those at his position at the collegiate level and above.”
