Class of ’22 wing Cam Whitmore cuts to 3 schools

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Cam Whitmore, the 6-foot-6 wing forward from Archbishop Spalding (MD) and Team Melo, cut his list to three schools on Monday.

Whitmore is down to Illinois, North Carolina and Villanova after cutting Georgetown, Maryland, Notre Dame, Louisville, Florida, Penn State and Miami from his previous list of 10.

He recently visited Illinois and UNC in August, and will visit Villanova the weekend of Sept. 17.

He is rated the No. 7 small forward in the Class of 2022 per 247Sports.com.

“Cam is an elite athlete with a rising skill set,” coach Jerard Rucker of Team Melo said. “His shooting and ball handling have improved tremendously this past year. When his pace and understanding improves he will be an incredible college and beyond player.”
