Class of 2022 three-star forward Demarion Watson commits to Iowa State

By JACOB POLACHECK

Demarion Watson, the No. 148 overall prospect in the class of 2022, has committed to Iowa State, he announced Monday via Twitter.

The 6-foot-6, 175-pound small forward from Totino-Grace (MN) and the Grassroots Sizzle AAU Program, chose Iowa State over Minnesota, Vanderbilt and Cal, among others.

Ranked by 247Sports.com as the No. 37 small forward in the class of 2022, Watson joins four-star combo guard Eli King and three-star point guard Tamin Lipsey in the Cyclones’ 2022 recruiting class.

“On offense, I can score on all three levels, whether it’s the three, the midrange or using my athleticism to get to the basket,” Watson told ZAGSBLOG in November. “On defense, I can get in the passing lanes, get steals, blocks and defend on the perimeter. I can guard the one through five positions on defense.”
