Rodney Rice visits Alabama and Virginia Tech, talks future plans

Rodney Rice, the 6-foot-4 guard from DeMatha and Team Durant AAU, spoke to ZAGSBLOG about his recent visits with Alabama and Virginia Tech.

Alabama: “Alabama showed great hospitality. They emphasized that I’m one of the guys they want. I also have a great connection with the coaching staff and it just gives off a family vibe.”

Virginia Tech: ” It was a great visit because of the connection I have with the coaching staff. They also made me feel like a priority which I loved.”

Rice is scheduled to take an unofficial visit to Louisville from June 22-24.

“I’m looking forward to seeing more about what Louisville is about on and off the court as well as my connection with coach (Chris) Mack and (Mike) Pegues.

“I’m looking to make my commitment sometime in the fall,” Rice stated.

When it comes to making a commitment the highly-touted guard is looking for “a strong connection with the staff, family vibe, style of play, and if that school will get me to the NBA.”

Leading Team Durant, Rice is looking to win Peach Jam which will be held from July 20-25 in North Augusta, SC.

Rice also mentioned that he is considering teaming up with fellow DeMatha teammate Tyrell Ward.

According to 247Sports, Rice as the No. 64 overall and is the No. 9 shooting guard.
