Oregon adds another Rutgers transfer in Jacob Young

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Oregon had success with one Rutgers transfer this past season, and now they’ve added a second.

Jacob Young, the 6-foot-2 senior guard from Houston who averaged 14.1 points and 3.4 assists last season when Rutgers reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 30 years, is transferring to play for the Ducks. His older brother, Joseph, played for Oregon from 2013-15.

Oregon previously had success with former Rutgers forward Eugene Omoruyi, who averaged 17.1 points and 5.4 rebounds last season and then entered the NBA Draft.

Rutgers lost four transfers this offseason with Young, Myles Johnson (UCLA), Montez Mathis (St. John’s) and Mamadou Doucoure (La Salle).

Oregon also adds Syracuse transfer Quincy Guerrier, junior college star Rivaldo Soares, Oklahoma transfer guard Deโ€™Vion Harmon, incoming power forward Isaac Johnson and incoming big man Nate Brittle.
