Class of 2022 center Will Shaver has committed to North Carolina, he announced Wednesday via Instagram.
The 6-foot-9, 245-pound center from Oak Mountain (AL), chose UNC over Alabama, Florida State, Georgetown, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Kansas, Purdue and Iowa, among others.
Shaver committed just one day after his first official visit to North Carolina on Tuesday (June 1).
Ranked by 247Sports.com as the No. 18 center in the Class of 2022, Shaver is the first commit in the Tar Heels’ 2022 recruiting class.
North Carolina is set to bring in the nation’s No. 39 recruiting class in 2021, per 247Sports.com, headlined by four-stars Dontrez Styles and D’Marco Dunn.
