Class of 2022 star Keyonte George down to 5 schools

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Class of 2022 star Keyonte George is down to five schools, he announced Thursday.

Ranked the No. 1 shooting guard in 2022 per 247Sports.com, the 6-foot-4 guard from iSchool Entrepreneurial Academy in Texas is down to Kentucky, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Texas and Kansas.

Kentucky this week offered fellow Class of 2022 stars Brandon Miller and Chris Livingston.

Of Oklahoma State, George told 247sports: “Mike Boynton really just tells me that I could be a lot like Cade Cunningham for them. I could come in and have a good season and prepare myself for the next level and that’s the goal. One of my best friends Avery Anderson goes there and we talk about college a lot, Coach Boynton just tells us that we could feed off of each other.”

Texas coach Chris Beard is also making a hard push to keep George in state.

“Coach Ulric Maligi called me and told me that I was one of the first players that they were calling,” he told 247. “They wanted to make sure that I knew that I was still a priority as they made the move from Texas Tech to Texas so that was big for me.”
