Texas A&M adds St. Joe’s transfer Jordan Hall

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Texas A&M coach Buzz Williams continues to remake his roster via the Transfer Portal.

The Aggies on Tuesday landed a commitment from St. Joe’s transfer Jordan Hall, who chose Texas A&M over Oklahoma and Arkansas, among others.

“I am committed to Texas A&M and coach Buzz Williams,” he told ZAGSBLOG.

“The coaching staff wants to play position-less basketball and likes that I can pass, dribble, and shoot. I feel like I am a good facilitator and can thrive within their system.”

The 6-foot-8 freshman from Wildwood, N.J. averaged 10.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.7 assists while shooting 38 percent last season at St. Joe’s.

He scored 15+ points in six of his last eight games, including a triple-double of 22 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in a Feb. 20 win over La Salle. It was the first triple-double in St. Joe’s history since 2005.

Texas A&M had nine players hit the Transfer Portal.

Hall joins incoming transfers Marcus Williams (Wyoming), Aaron Cash (JUCO) and Ethan Henderson (Arkansas) as well as signees Manny Obaseki, Wade Taylor and Ashton Smith.

“You can look at the portal in one way, but you can also look at it in another way,” Williams told TheEagle.com last month. “It also allows us to have opportunities to find the right people, to find the right positions. We’re not done yet, and I don’t know any high-major team is necessarily done.”

The Aggeies return Quenton Jackson Andre Gordon, Hassan Diarra, Hayden Hefner and UConn transfer Javonte Brown.

“I’m just looking forward to joining my teammates and growing with them in College Station!” he said.
