LSU is the winner of the Adam Miller Sweepstakes.
Miller, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound guard out of Peoria, IL, committed to the Tigers on Saturday over Kentucky, Michigan and others.
“I’m picking LSU, Louisiana State University,” he told Stadium’s Jeff Goodman.
“Will Wade, I had a great relationship with him. He understood my game, he understood my feel, we watched some NBA games together. It was just feel, I feel like he’s a good coach, he knows my game. He can take advantage of that, and I just told him I want a coach that trusts me and I can come in and help him get the job done.”
Regarded as one of the top available transfers, Miller averaged 8.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.6 steals per game as a freshman during the 2020-21 season. He appeared in 31 games, making 29 starts and averaging 25.5 minutes per game.
“[I will play] my true position, combo [guard], 1-2, switching back and forth,” he said. “That’s how I came up my whole life…I feel that’s my best asset, putting that ball in the hole. So being that true combo, just showing my full aspect of the game. I feel I can get some buckets, get some assists, get some rebounds, just help the team win.”
Coming out of Morgan Park (IL) High School, Miller was ranked by 247Sports.com as the No. 6 shooting guard and No. 35 overall prospect in the Class of 2020.
Illinois assistants Orlando Antigua and Ron āChinā Coleman have both been linked to Kentucky, and Coleman was Millerās lead recruiter at Illinois, so there was some thought Miller would land at Kentucky. The Wildcats need backcourt help after Nolan Hickman decommitted on Friday.
LSU loses Javonte Smart, Cam Thomas, Darius Days and Trendon Watford but adds Missouri transfer Xavier Pinson along with Class of 2021 shooting guard Brandon Murray and big men Jerrell Colbert and Bradley Ezewiro.
