Clemson lands USF transfer guard David Collins

By TOBIAS BASS

Clemson has landed a commitment from former South Florida guard David Collins, he announced Tuesday via Twitter.

“I just like what they have to offer,” he said. “They recruited me hard and I just see myself fitting in well over there. They’re coming off playing in March Madness and top 5 in the ACC in wins for the past 5 years so they’ve been consistent and just overall I feel like I can help them win. When we had our Zooms everything they had to say was good, and what they were showing me was real and they got my best interest at heart.”

The 6-foot-4, 220 pound guard from Youngstown, OH, averaged 12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 37.3 percent from three.

Collins chose Clemson over Kansas, St. John’s, Georgia, Kansas State, and Arizona State.
