After reaching the Sweet 16, the Syracuse roster is in flux

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Just a week ago, the vibes around the Syracuse men’s basketball program were all good as Buddy Boeheim helped lead his father’s team to the Sweet 16 as an 11 seed.

Now reality is setting in not only for the Orange, but for many programs across the nation as more than 1,000 players are in the transfer portal.

**Prized freshman guard Kadary Richmond of Brooklyn (6.3 ppg, 3.1 apg) has entered the portal and is reportedly looking for more playing time and a greater role with Joe Girard III set to be the lead guard next season. As of Wednesday morning, Maryland, Creighton, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Providence, UConn and George Washington had reached out to his high school coach.

**Redshirt sophomore forward Robert Braswell (3.8 ppg, 1.9 rpg) also entered the portal, as did freshman big man John Bol Ajak (0.2 ppg, 0.4 rpg).

**Junior forward Quincy Guerrier (13.7 ppg, 8.4 rpg) is testing the NBA Draft waters.

**Junior forward Alan Griffin (13.3 ppg, 5.8 rpg) is also expected to leave, while senior Marek Dolezaj (9.8 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 3.1 apg) is also moving on, sources said.

**Syracuse is expected to return Boeheim (17.8 ppg) Girard III (12.9 ppg, 3.5 apg) sophomore big man Jesse Edwards (1.9 ppg, 2.6 rpg) and adds small forward Benny Williams. The Orange also added Marquette transfer Symir Torrence on Wednesday.
