Alabama’s Nate Oats was named SEC Coach of the Year and Alabama’s Herbert Jones was honored as Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
The 6-foot-8 Jones averaged 10.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.0 blocks for a Crimson Tide team that finished 21-6, 16-2 in the SEC and is the No. 1 seed in the SEC Tournament.
Oats recently signed an extension through the 2026-27 season that will increase his annual pay to $3.225 million.
Arkansas’ Moses Moody was named Freshman of the Year.
Meantime, Kentucky doesn’t have a single player on the first or second teams and has just one freshman, Isaiah Jackson, on the All-Freshmen Team.
