This season, four-star junior power forward Tarris Reed has been putting on a clinic at Chaminade (MO) School.
Ranked the No. 17 power forward in the Class of 2022 per 247Sports.com, the 6-foot-10 Reed broke down his recruitment with ZAGSBLOG.
He mentioned that Illinois and Butler are the newest schools to enter his recruitment. In addition, he’s completed a complete of virtual visits.
“I’ve completed virtual visits with Missouri, St. Louis, and Indiana,” he said.
“Honestly, there are many programs I want to visit. I’m listening to what the coaches have to say. Knowing that I am limited, I need to make the best decision for myself.”
While Reed said no schools in particular are standing out, he broke down a few.
Missouri: “Speaking with their coaching staff frequently and watching them doing well this year is great. Got a chance to visit the campus last year before Covid. Spoke with their coaching staff and watched parts of their practice. I like Coach [Cuonzo] Martin’s coaching style, definitely a system I can thrive in.
Iowa: “I liked how Iowa played Tyler Cook. Going to the same high school he went to and seeing him commit to Iowa was great. Spoke with him a little about the school. Many compare parts of our game. Seeing him play in Iowa and how he fit into the system was definitely and eye opener.”
Saint Louis: “Of course, SLU is a home town school. I’m glad to see what they are doing this year. Top 25 and making a name for themselves. It would be cool to stay home and labeled a ‘hometown hero.'”
Ohio State: “I like Ohio State and their offense. E.J Liddell is making a name for himself. Played against him my freshman year and worked with him numerous times. The work he’s put in and what’s he’s producing on the court it impressive. I can see myself fitting in well in their program. Especially with someone playing that same position.”
Reed has no timetable on a decision and looks forward to making a decision whenever the time is right.
