Michigan is the latest program to pause due to COVID-19 protocols, the school announced Saturday.
All University of Michigan athletics will be paused for two weeks starting Sunday, in accordance with an order from the state health department according to messages obtained by The Michigan Daily Saturday.
The pause halts all athletic activity including practice after a recent number of positive COVID-19 cases within several Michigan teams.
Within the past week, 22 student-athletes tested positive for COVID-19, per release.
Michigan basketball has started the season with 13-1 record (8-1 Big Ten) and a No. 7 ranking in the latest AP Poll.
Previously scheduled matchups with Penn State (Jan. 27), Indiana (Jan. 30), Northwestern (Feb. 3) and Michigan State (Feb 6) have all been postponed.
Michigan’s next scheduled matchup is set for Feb. 7 against No. 22 Illinois.
